MUMBAI: There is a lot of similarity between the neighbouring countries India and Pakistan. They might be arch rivals when it comes to the cricket field but in showbiz world there is hardly any difference. “The Lunchbox” fame actress Nimrat Kaur has got an opportunity to play a role of a Pakistani in the coming American series “Homeland.”
Nimrat Kaur will be a part of that show which is based on Islamabad. The actress who has roots in the Rawalpindi and Lahore as well said that she was extremely excited to be a part of the show and to looking forward to cast as a Pakistani. She is presently in Cape Town for the series. The Emmy Award winning show is all set to come with the fourth season and Nimrat will be a key part of it. She has refused to comment about the experience though saying that it is very early to comment on it. The actress said that she hails from Punjab of India, and her ancestors both parental and maternal belongs to Lahore and Rawalpindi. She said she had a strong connection with the country and would love to visit at Pakistan at least once in her lifetime. She also confirmed that she did not even give a second thought before saying ‘yes’ to the role.
The fourth season will also feature Suraj Sharma of ‘Life of Pi,’ Art Malik of ‘True Lies’ and Mark Moses of ‘Mad Men.’ The show will be aired in United States from October 6.
