Bhabhi (sister-in-law) kisses her Devar (brother-in-law) at his wedding in Aligarh on Thursday night. Neglecting bride's and her family who was present, excited Bhabhi leapt up and kissed her Devar. She also pulled the bridegroom to the dance floor and shook a leg.
Angry bride family not only beat up members of the baraat but also held the bridegroom captive.
Aligarh mayor Shakuntala Bharati, who came to give blessing was present at the scene said that the boy (bridegroom) had been confined by the girl's family. He was in their custody. Bharati said "Although it was their personal matter I intervened to free the bridegroom". Bharati said that both come from very good and educated families, so it was a bit of a shock.
Police came in to settle the matter but the families decided not to file cross FIRs. The groom went back without the bride.
