An adorable tiger cub has been adopted by a dog after its mother abandoned it - and has even allowed the cub to suckle.
Genie, the black labrador, instantly took to the two-month old cub who was rejected by its mother at an Indian zoo.
Keepers searched for a surrogate mother to feed the tiger and couldn't believe their luck when Genie seemed the perfect new mother.
Rakesh Yadav, a keeper at the zoo who helped integrate the two, said: “They are like (mother) and son. There are many visitors coming just to see the dog and the tiger cub. For the public it’s a new attraction seeing the tiger cub very friendly with the dog. The mainly come here to see the dog and tiger.”
Watch as the young tiger, who is yet to be named, feeds off the labrador.
