Pakistan: mobile phone imports rise by 6.15pc

Imports of mobile phones increased to $282.872 million during the first five months (July-Nov) of this fiscal year as compared to $266.471m in the same period last year, an increase of 6.15 per cent.


In November, the imports increased by 19.17pc to $58.278m against $48.9m in Nov 2013, however, the figure decreased by 0.54pc when compared to $58.596m in Oct 2014, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) data revealed on Friday.

The overall telecom imports also increased by 21.1pc to $635.709m during the period under review as compared to $524.945m in July-Nov, 2013-14.

The telecom imports during Nov 2014 stood at $122.736m, increased by 15.42pc against $106.334m in Nov 2013 and by 4.02pc against $117.99 million in Oct 2014. APP
