KARACHI - An accountability court on Saturday indicted former commerce minsiter Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Makhdoom Amin Fahim and 11 others in the National Insurance Company Limited (NICL) land scam case.
Makhdoom Amin Fahim did not appear before the court as he is abroad for cancer treatment, while rest of the accused rejected the charges and announced to contest the court's decision.
They are accused of purchasing 10 acres of land in Karachi’s Korangi area and selling it to the government at an inflated price which led to millions in losses to the national exchequer. The court has summoned witnesses during the next hearing of the case, which is scheduled for September 30. INP
