KARACHI: Bytes.pk is proud to announce the ‘vrPakistan’ initiative on its first birthday on January 15. The initiative, for which bytes.pk partnered with Elements Protection, Rush Clothing and Leopards Logistics, includes giving away 10,000 free bytes vr lite virtual reality headsets.
Bytes.pk pioneered virtual reality in Pakistan by bringing virtual headsets under Rs 1,000 that simply required a smartphone. Bytes vr is Pakistan’s top selling virtual reality headset. Virtual reality has steadily grown in the country but there still remains a major void of Pakistani content for virtual reality devices.
By giving away the bytes vr headsets, bytes.pk hopes to enable more people to develop content that could be watched and played on any virtual reality headset. 8,000 headsets will be given away through the website while 2,000 at schools and universities. To avail this offer for free, users would have to visit bytes.pk and check out the product after adding to their cart.
The headsets would be available in three batches at the following times: January 15 00:00 (4,000 units), January 15 15:00 (2,000 units) and on January 15 20:00 (2,000 units). Bytes.pk CEO Mohammed Khanani said, “The vrPakistan initiative would allow us to create more awareness about virtual reality in Pakistan. Majority of the people still do not understand how it works. This initiative would provide a chance for people to try it out for the first time.”
