Lieutenant General (R) Muhammad Alam Khattak has been nominated as the new governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhuwa (KP). Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has signed on the summary for the new governor. Khattak has been working as a Defence Secretary. Following his formal allocation as KP governor he will resign from the post.
Alam Khattak’s nomination as the new governor comes after former KP Governor Sardar Mehtab Abbasi announced his resignation from the post. Abbasi cited desire to take active part in politics as the reason behind his decision to resign from the governor’s post. (news desk)
