Karachi: Dedicated to improving the lives of the consumers and in a bid to strengthen the market leading position, LG Electronics, a global leader and technology innovator, has announced an executive promotion and new leadership roles for its Middle East & Africa operations.
Key announcement for the region was the promotion of the President, Kevin Cha to Executive Vice President of LG Electronics, MEA operations. Cha has been the President of the LG Electronics since 2014 and his promotion reflects his impressive leadership and extensive corporate strategy experience, as well as his in-depth product and commercial expertise.
Commenting on his new role, Cha, said, “Over the last couple of years, LG Electronics has already made big strides in the global marketplace with the introduction of flagship products that have been instrumental in providing a better life for our consumers. I am extremely delighted to be leading the way for such an innovative brand and I am optimistic our new and exciting product line-up will entice our consumers even further.”
Cha’s association with LG Electronics dates back to 1988. In 1993, Mr. Cha was appointed as the General Manager of LG Electronics, Saudi Arabia. Earlier in his career, he held several senior level roles within LG Electronics and in 2005 rose to the position of the President of LG Electronics, Shanghai, China. And recently, prior to heading the MEA region, Cha was bestowed upon the title of Managing Director for the LG Electronics Levant.
Among the other key executive leadership announcements Mr. Yong Geun Choi has been appointed as the Managing Director for LG Electronics in the Gulf region and the others leading positions across the region include appointments of new Managing Directors across markets like Levant, Egypt, Saudi, Algeria & Iran.
With industry experience dating for over two decades, Mr. Choi has been with LG Electronics since 1992. In line with several leadership roles, Mr. Choi has been instrumental in terms of driving growth and milestone product introductions in various markets including Tunisia, Morocco, Jordan, Lebanon and most recently in Ethiopia.
In his new role, Mr. Choi will be primarily responsible for driving growth in key Gulf markets, expanding the B2B business and further cementing a robust organization culture.

LG Electronics MEA which has been in the region since 1988 — presently employs more than 2,000 people in 35 countries across the MEA region and has robust plans for the region.
