Andhra Pradesh: Dalit Brothers Tied To Tree, Stripped And Thrashed Brutally By “Gaurakshaks”

بھارتی انتہا پسندوں کی اخلاق بستہ حرکتیں۔۔گائے پر ہاتھ اٹھانے پر  دالیت بھائیوں کو درخت سے باند کر کوڑے مارے گئے…؟؟

Another atrocity perpetrated against Dalits
Atrocities against Dalits have already sparked protests and marches across India. The Prime Minister also spoke out against these incidents. In a similar incident that sparked huge political controversy and protest in Gujarat last month, two brothers from the Dalit community were allegedly tied to a coconut tree, stripped and thrashed brutally for skinning a dead cow in Amalapuram, Andhra Pradesh. The incident took place on Monday after Mokati Elisa and his brother Lazar were hired to skin a cow that had died of electrocution, reported the police. While they were doing their job, they were attacked by around 100 vigilantes who accused them of stealing and killing the animal.

The cow belonged to a vegetable-seller who hired the two brothers to skin it. The two brothers are admitted in a hospital and one of them is reportedly in a critical condition. Two of the attackers have been identified as Gangadhar and Ramana. Such an attack comes a week after Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent out a strong message against attacks on Dalits by gaurakshaks. Besides, last month’s incident in Una district of Gujarat has also triggered a mass protest in the state. Dalits are accusing the government of not protecting their interest and giving them better opportunities in the society.

The Logical Indian condemns the governments and concerned authorities for failing to uphold law and order in their respective states. It is quite disheartening to see nonstate actors taking the law into their own hands and getting away with it. It is high time state governments and central government draw a plan to nab the culprits and ensure the victims get justice.
