HBL and Etihad Airways enter into commercial partnership

HBL and Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, have entered into a commercial partnership through which HBL Credit and Debit Cardholders will benefit from special reduced fares on all online Etihad Airways ticket purchases.

The agreement was signed in Karachi by Aamir Kureshi, HBL Global Consumer Banking Head,and Ahmed Zahoor, Etihad Airways General Manager Pakistan.

Speaking at the occasion, Ahmed Zahoor said: "This is an exciting opportunity for HBL customers who are frequent travellers as the collaboration with Etihad Airways allows them to enjoy great fares across our global network, while enjoying excellent levels of service across our cabins."

Aamir Kureshi added: "HBL is proud to partner with Etihad Airways to offer our card customers additional value for their travel needs. We are continuously exploring new ways to offer our customers an enhanced and rewarding card experience. Our strategic alliance with Etihad Airways is a result of their strong on-ground presence in Pakistan as well as the collaborative efforts of both organisations. We strongly believe that the partnership will be truly rewarding for our card customers."

Through the partnership, HBL will capitalise on the increasing trend of e-commerce in the country and further strengthen its position in the market.

Etihad Airways operates scheduled flights from Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad to its Abu Dhabi hub, with onward connections to destinations across Europe, Middle East, Africa, Australasia and The Americas. With partner airlines, Etihad Airways serves more than 600 destinations world-wide from Abu Dhabi, offering travellers greater choice and more travel options.

Also present at the signing event were senior officials from both companies, including Naveed Asghar, HBL Chief Marketing Officer; Syed Muddasir Niazi, HBL Head of Credit Cards; and Naveed Ahmed, Etihad Airways Manager Sales.
