Worlds longest flight takes off with #QatarAirways

Worlds longest flight Qatar Airways is operating the worlds longest flight scheduled with passenger between Doha and Auckland on Sunday. 


Qatar’s latest route has a flight time of 16 hours and 20 minutes. The 9,032 mile journey will begin at 5:10am from Doha (local time). The flight is scheduled to arrive in Auckland at 7:30am (local time) on Monday.

Operated by the carrier’s Boeing 777-200LR Qatar Airways’ flight 920 will pass above Dubai, northern Oman, the south of India as well as Sri Lanka. It will also the fly over the Indian Ocean and Western Australia before descending into Auckland. The return journey is expected to take more time. The trip costs $1,265 one-way for an economy seat while business class costs $4,500.

With an 8,824 mile trip from Dubai to Auckland on Airbus A380, Dubai-based Emirates presently holds the world’s longest flight title. However, Qatar Airways may not hold the title for long after snatching it From Emirates.

Singapore Airlines is planning on launching a route from Singapore to New York in 2018; spanning 9,529 miles – some 497 miles longer than than the Doha-Aukland route.
