Byco sponsors DHA’s International Squash Championship
(Karachi, November 16, 2018): Byco Petroleum Pakistan Limited, Pakistan’s only vertically integrated Oil Company, announced its sponsorship of DHA’s International Squash Championship Trophy to be held from the 20th to 24th November at the Defence Authority Creek Club in Karachi.
The Trophy returns to Pakistan after a gap of 13 years which is significant as it signals a return of international sports to the country. Both male and female delegates from 17 countries including Pakistan, USA, Canada, Australia, and the Middle East will compete at the recently revamped Asif Nawaz Squash Complex at Creek Club.
Mr. Azfar Saeed Baig, Vice President, Byco Petroleum Pakistan Limited said on the occasion, “Byco enthusastically sponsors the 2018 DHA International Squash Championship Cup. Byco believes in supporting healthy activities including sports and are glad that this tournament has returned to Pakistan after a long gap signifying the return of international sports to the nation.”
DHA Creek Club and Squash Association have confirmed immaculate arrangements for the entire event and all the competitors. According to a recent press conference held to announce this tournament, the three-side glass wall championship court will have a seating capacity of 650 spectators and a new wooden floor has been laid for the matches. Furthermore, two of the four courts will be used for practice while the other two for the tournament.
