Rs 32 Billion Spent On Approved Schemes For #Chitral:- Say Khurso Bukhtiar
ISLAMABAD: Minister for Planning, Development and Reform Makhdoom Khusro Bukhtiar Friday said that an amount of Rs 63 billion was earmarked for approved schemes in Chitral of which Rs 32 billion had been spent.
It was stated by him while responding to a Calling Attention Notice in the National Assembly regarding exclusion of development schemes of Chitral from PSDP 2018-19.
The minister said that foreign funded allocation for schemes in Chitral is of Rs 14 billion while special allocation has been made for Shandor-Chitral road.
He said that Shandor-Chitral road would be the alternate route of Karakoram Highway and the government was committed to complete it.
The minister said that Chitral Hydro Power Project had been completed while speedy work was underway at Grid Evacuation project.
"Two packages of 117 kilometer and 61 kilometer related to grid evacuation have been completed while 97 percent work on another segment of 28 kilometer is over." He said that transmission work was being done by WAPDA through its own resources.
The minister said that Golan Gol Hydro power project had been completed through an investment of Rs 29 billion and it would have installed capacity of 106 Megawatt. (monitoring desk)
