Two-day Digital Youth Summit organised in Peshawar - Facebook agrees to collaborate with KP govt in training young entrepreneurs

PESHAWAR: A two-day Digital Youth Summit organised within the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) capital Peshawar on Sunday which was additionally attended by former finance minister Asad Umar, different distinguished nationwide and enterprise personalities, ARY Information reported.

Whereas addressing the occasion, Asad Umar stated the youth of the nation should improve their talent within the data expertise because the prosperity and improvement are depending on it.

The previous finance minister congratulated the organisers of the Digital Youth Summit, saying that data expertise is his favorite sector.

He stated that the youth might develop different sectors after getting experience in data expertise. Umar added that any warfare could be received by way of empowering and strengthening the youth of the nation. 

In this regard Facebook team held inaugural meeting with Taimur Jhagra at his office and discussed potential partnership. During the meeting facebook delegation told the minister that help would be provided to government for improving business opportunities in the province.

KP Finance Minister Taimur Saleem Khan Jhagra said this in a meeting with a team of Facebook in Peshawar on Saturday. The minister said Careem and Uber are already taking part in different initiatives in KP and now Facebook has also offered to take part in the training of young entrepreneurs. He said it is a great moment that the social media giant has also decided to come to KP.

During the meeting with Taimur Saleem Jhagra, the Facebook delegation said it would assist the KP government for improving business opportunities in the province. Facebook team also announced to hold training and consultation sessions with entrepreneurs and business community of KP and to highlight importance of having a robust online presence.

The Digital Youth Summit (DYS) is a joint initiative of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa authorities and the World Financial institution (WB) together with key local people and tutorial companions, stated official web site.

DYS is a technology-focused convention that takes place yearly in Peshawar.

Since its inception in 2014, DYS has rapidly grow to be one of many premier tech conferences in Pakistan—differentiated by its concentrate on youth empowerment; its capability to draw high-profile home and worldwide attendees and audio system and its distinctive venue: Peshawar, which is without doubt one of the oldest residing cities on the earth.

As per the MoU, all existing Rescue 1122 ambulances will be onboard on the Careem platform through a separate emergency services customer car type (CCT). All ambulance and fire brigade captains will be trained by Careem on how to use the application for captains.

The chief minister said the initiative will provide citizens with access to emergency services using a simple mobile application.
