FBR introduces POS invoice system for retailers


Buyers can also verify their tax payment through Tax Asaan App, informed spokesperson FBR.
The retailers don't need to purchase any additional machinery to use POS system. The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has introduced Point of Sale (POS) invoicing system for major retailers.

The POS system has integrated major retail outlets with the FBR system. Now the buyers can also verify their tax payment through Tax Asaan App, informed spokesperson FBR.

The tax revenue authority informed that the retailers don't need to purchase any additional machinery to use this system, as they can integrate their system with POS by downloading an application from the FBR website.


The tax authority warned that the retailers, who do not get them integrated into the POS system, will not get full input tax credit. FBR informed that the POS system is running without interruption at more than 5,500 shops.

Furthermore, FBR has divided Directorate of Internal Audit, Islamabad into two categories i.e. Directorate of Internal Audit-North (Customs), Islamabad and Directorate of Internal Audit-South (Customs), Karachi.

According to a notification of the FBR, in pursuance of FBR's SRO No. 1494(I)/2019 dated 02.12.2019, the name of the office Directorate of Internal Audit, Islamabad will be read as Directorate of Internal Audit-North (Customs), Islamabad from 02.12.2019 for the purpose of posting of all officers/officials from BS 1-20. Also the officers/officials posted in the Directorate of Internal Audit, Islamabad (stationed at Lahore) will be read as Directorate of Internal Audit-North (Customs), Islamabad (stationed at Lahore).
