Meezan Bank wins ‘Shariah Authenticity Award 2020’ among multiple awards at the 10th Global Islamic Finance Awards



Karachi, 16 September 2020: Meezan Bank, Pakistan’s first and largest Islamic bank has been conferred with ‘Shariah Authenticity Award’ among multiple accolades at the 10th Global Islamic Finance Awards (GIFA) held in Islamabad, Pakistan. The Bank has also been recognized as ‘Shariah Auditor of the Year’ and ‘Sukuk House of the Year Award’. All the three awards conferred to the Bank are global awards. 

Honorable President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi presented the awards to Meezan Bank’s senior management team of Mr. Ahmed Ali Siddiqui – Group Head Shariah Compliance and Mr. Muhammad Saleem Khan – General Manager, North. 

Meezan Bank has been recognized by GIFA for six years owing to its contributions to the Islamic finance industry. The GIFA Awards are among the most prestigious global awards in the field of Islamic banking and are assessed on multiple factors including innovation, quality of product offerings, standards of best practices for national & global Islamic financial industry as well as commitment to Islamic Banking and Finance. Meezan Bank’s recognition in three award categories is testimony to the fact that Meezan Bank stands among the top-most Shariah-compliant financial institutions in the world.
