Workshop and debates by Pakistan Center of Excellence Research and Security Studies concludes at Chitral University
CHITRAL (Gul Hamaad Farooqi): two-day collaborative workshop and Debates was concluded by Pakistan Center of Excellence Center for Research and Security Studies for students at Chitral University. The main objective of this workshop was to create awareness among the students about tolerance, questions, and fundamental rights. This awareness workshop was concludes on inculcating tolerance, critical thinking, questioning preconceived notions and narratives and embedding the national discourse in constitutional and the rule of law.
Project Manager Farhana Kanwal told local journalists that it is an autonomous body organization that has been working on various topics for the last ten years. She said that the main objective of these activities is to promote critical thinking in boys and girls, what is the importance of asking questions and what can be gained by asking questions. Farhana Kanwal said that she conducted four sessions in two days. The first session was on equality, diversity tolerance, the second session was on social harmony, the third session was on leadership and motivation on which Saddam Hussein briefed the participants. While the concluding session was on pre-building and confidence.
Nigina Hakeem, a student at the same university, said: "We learned a lot from this session because we didn't know anything about social conflict before and in social life we learn a lot about tolerating each other and making attitudes positive." Happened
Another student Nazish said that this session was very useful for us and the young generation got to learn a lot and there should be such sessions. He said the rising trend of suicide among women was also a result of intolerance.
"At first we didn't know what kind of questions we should ask and how we should solve social problems and encourage them to tolerate each other," said Kamla Bibi, an economics student.
"After the session, my communication skills improved a lot and we can easily talk to each other and now I will share what I have learned from here with my family," said Hafiza Nazar, a computer science student. ۔ There should be sessions so that students can talk to each other about their problems.
Farhana Kanwal also held a special question and answer session with the students in which questions were asked from the participants on various social values.
Certificates were distributed among the participants at the conclusion of the two-day seminar while at the closing ceremony Project Director of Chitral university Pro Dr Badshah Munir Bukhari stressed on youth to must respect norms and customary and doctrine of each other. He said that if we tolerate each other there would be no extremism and terrorism in the world.
