Pakistan Telecom Authority (PTA) Blocked Ahmadiyya Official WebSite for False Claims Related To Islam
Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has hindered the site ‘www.trueislam.com’ for viewership in the country.
According to information, PTA had talked to the director of the site for the expulsion of unlawful online material from the site, being in contravention upon section 295-A, 298-B, and 298-C of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and essentially maltreatment of Article 260 (3) and Article 31 of the Constitution of Pakistan.
As per the provisions of Eliminate and Blocking of Unlawful Online Material (Process, Oversight, and Safeguard), Rules, 2020 (“Rules”), the overseer of the site was coordinated to eliminate the unlawful material.
The policy was also given a chance of hearing (virtual/physical) to clarify its situation before the Authority, which it didn’t avail.
Given the affectability of the issue, PTA, in the activity of power gave under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016 and the Rules, impeded the site ‘www.trueislam.com’ for viewership in Pakistan.
