Taylor Swift's Vienna Concerts Canceled Due to Terror Threat; Two Suspects Detained
Taylor Swift's three scheduled concerts in Vienna, Austria, were canceled following government confirmation of a planned terrorist attack at the Ernst Happel Stadium. The organizer, Barracuda.music, announced the cancellation on Instagram on August 7, prioritizing the safety of attendees. All tickets will be automatically refunded.
Austrian police have arrested two suspects in connection with the threat, including a 19-year-old Austrian who allegedly pledged allegiance to the Islamic State. The authorities have initiated an investigation, conducting searches and analyzing items from the suspect's residence in Lower Austria.
The canceled Vienna concerts were part of Taylor Swift's highly successful Eras Tour, which has been drawing massive crowds worldwide. The concerts were expected to attract around 65,000 attendees each day. Following the cancellations, Swift is scheduled to perform in London at Wembley Stadium starting August 15.
