#Ufone supports revival of music industry in Pakistan

Ufone, continuing with its trend of innovation in launching new products and services, has launched a new portal named Taazi.com,in collaboration with Unicorn Black, to support the music industry in Pakistan, where existing and upcoming artists, record labels and content providers will be able to sell a variety of content, ranging from songs to videos, by simply creating a free account. 

This initiative is again the first and one of its kind, enabling artists to sell their content online while retaining copyrights.

Mr. Sherjeel Bin Hassan, Head of VAS at Ufone said, “Ufone has always been there to support the music industry in Pakistan, be it upcoming/rising stars or existing superstars. This new portal, Taazi.com, reflects the company’s policy of supporting innovation,new talent and discouraging piracy.”

Haroon, CEO Unicorn Black and thevisionary behind the mega successful Burka Avenger animation(Ex-Band Member of Awaz Group) added his views saying, “Taazi.com is an effort to help promote the incredible music talent in Pakistan, discourage piracy and provide artists an opportunity to earn money from their original content. As a musician myself I understand the challenges faced by music artists. Taazi.com is an original ground breaking portal for artists and it is the first of its kind anywhere in the world.”

In the past, Ufone has been on the forefront in supporting the music industry in Pakistan with major initiatives such as Ufone Uthrecords, providing a platform for young talented musiciansto showcase their talent.In an industry where artists get less than 25% from sales of their music as royalties, Taazi.com will give 60% of proceeds from sales to artists.
