Abdullah Abdullah, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the government of Afghanistan has said that the elements who commit crimes in Afghanistan are being financed and armed in neighboring Pakistan.
While talking to the council of ministers, CEO Abdullah said on Monday that the death of Mullah Omar was being kept secret for two years and then leadership meetings were openly organized there {Pakistan} to continue the carnage in Afghanistan.
“In regards to Pakistan… in spite of our people’s skepticism, we took bold steps to improve relations, but unfortunately, Pakistan did cooperate in anti-terrorism activities over the past 10 months as we expected… and they issued good statements, but those who commit crimes against our people are financed there, they are armed there, and finally they keep Mullah Omar’s death a secret for two years, and then openly hold new leadership meetings on order to restore their identity under the leadership of a new criminal, to gain legitimacy and continue their carnage.” he said.
CEO Abdullah explained that during the last 10 months of the National Unity Government in Afghanistan the Taliban insurgent group has not gotten weaker but instead they have gained more strength.
“Not only has no change been detected in the military machinery of the Taliban over the last 10 months, but it has in fact gotten stronger… because they don’t feel any pressure, and they are armed and financed, and resort to unencumbered mobility.” He said.
“Meanwhile, as terrorists take responsibility after broad daylight attacks on our side, no limitation have been imposed on their activities and they continue their shameless attacks.”
The CEO also said that Afghanistan assisted Pakistan in Peshawar attack tragedy even with terrorists they claimed to be on Afghan side.
“When Peshawar’s school tragedy took place, we called it terrorism and Afghans denounced it… We even went further and helped them with terrorist element they claimed were on our side.” Abdullah said.
CEO Abdullah that Pakistan had said “Afghanistan’s enemy is Pakistan’s enemy”, “What kind of enemy of Pakistan is this?” he questioned, adding that “They kill people here, then move around freely there!”
His comments come after Pakistan reiterated its commitment on fighting terrorism equally in the wake of deadly Kabul attacks that left at least 50 killed and more than 400 others wounded.
The responsibility of one of the attack that left 26 killed and nearly 30 others wounded in Kabul’s police academy was claimed by Taliban whose leadership is believed to be in Pakistan.
Pakistan recently arranged a face-to-face meeting between delegations of Taliban and Afghan government in its soil.
