LAHORE At least four people were killed while six including mother and son sustained severe wounds in separate rain-related incidents across the Punjab.
The midnight rain with gusty winds turned weather pleasant in parts of the province however, this has also added to the woes of the locals as the thunderstorm tripped 150 feeders of Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO).
On the other hand, one person lost his life while six were injured as roof of a dilapidated house caved in due to downpour. The injured have been shifted to the hospital for medical assistance.
Separately, roof collapse in Pir Mahal near Kamalia Sugar Mill claimed lives of three people.
The strong thunderstorm has also caused damage to the property and cars in the twin cities.
According to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), rain/dust-thunderstorm associated with gusty winds will continue at scattered places of KP (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa), FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Islamabad Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Lahore and Faisalabad till Friday with breaks.
Spokesman further informed that current heat wave conditions will subside due to this weather system all over the country. A few hailstorm events may occur in sub-mountainous areas of Punjab, Hazara division and Kashmir during the period. (Dunya News)
