PTI Govt allocates 50 acres land in PM House to establish Pak-China Engineering University
Islamabad: The government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has allocated 50 acres land in Prime Minister House to set up Pak-China University of Engineering and Emerging Technologies’.
In addition to it, the PTI government has also allocated Rs 2 billion for the existing research institutions in public sector universities. Officials told Newztodays.com that this step would not only help generate skilled work force but it would result in use of scientific revolution in Pakistan’s industrial base.
The cabinet in its meeting held on May 7, 2019 considered the summary submitted by Ministry of Science and Technology regarding establishment of Pak-China University of Engineering and Emerging Technologies’. The cabinet had approved the establishment of Pak-China University of Engineering and Emerging Technologies’ at Prime Minister’s house Islamabad or any other side deemed appropriate subject to availability of donor funding and clearance from the relevant departments and forums.
Ministry of Science and Technology had taken up the matter with Capital Development Authority (CDA) to implement the decision of setting up Pak-China University of Engineering and Emerging Technologies. A land comprising about 50 acres in the North-Eastern part of Prime Minister House had been identified for establishing the University of Engineering and Emerging Technologies. Approval of the cabinet was sought for changing land use of the North-Eastern part of Prime Minister house comprising about 50 acres of land for establishing University of Engineering and Emerging Technologies.
The cabinet in its recent meeting had considered a summary submitted by Ministry of Science and Technology for setting up Pak-China University of Engineering and Emerging Technologies and approved the land use of 50 acres land in Prime Minister House. The cabinet further decided that Planning Division in consultation with the Vice Chairman PM’s Task Force on Technology based knowledge Economy shall allocated Rs 2 billion from the recurring budget allocated to Technology driven knowledge economy Task force to existing research institutions in the public sector universities.
