MOL Pakistan turns 20


Islamabad: MOL Pakistan Oil and Gas Company has completed 20 years of excellence and dynamism in Pakistan. A subsidiary of MOL Group, it has been operating in Pakistan since 1999.

Currently, MOL Pakistan is the operator of the Tal and Margalla Blocks and it has participation in two non-operated blocks namely Karak and D.G Khan. Apart from its operations in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, MOL Pakistan is actively pursuing acquisitions of interest in the provinces of Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan. Currently, MOL Pakistan is the 2nd largest producer of oil and condensate, 2nd largest producer of LPG and the 5th largest producer of gas in Pakistan.

At the event, the Executive Vice President Upstream MOL Group, Dr. Berislav Gaso in his presentation to the guests talked about the iconic history of the company in Pakistan. He said, “MOL Group has always expressed its interest and support to the Pakistani Oil and Gas Industry. With over USD 2.5 billion TAL Joint Venture investment till date, we look forward to increasing our business interests in the country”.

Speaking on the occasion the Federal Minister for Power, Petroleum and Natural Resources, Mr. Omar Ayub Khan stated, “I congratulate MOL Pakistan in completing 20 years in the country, as they are not just bringing success in the E&P sector of the country, they are also boosting our economy by provided jobs. We assure MOL Group that we shall support them in all their future endeavours in the country”.

Commemorating the celebrations, MOL Group hosted a grand dinner with participation from its joint venture partners, the industry elite, senior media officials, government officials, prominent ministers, etc. culminating in a soiree of Sufi musical performance by the famous qawwaal, Imran Aziz Mian.

The event was also attended by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information & Broadcasting, Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan, who commented, “I congratulate MOL Group on completing their 20 years. The company is helping Pakistan in addressing its energy needs and I commend them for that, I hope that MOL Group continues its excellent track record in Pakistan by exploring more areas and bring Pakistan to its competitive edge”.

At the occasion, the Regional Vice President Middle East Africa & Pakistan Mr. Ali Murtaza Abbas commented, “MOL Group is very happy at the participation of all our esteemed guests, their presence alone gives credence to our hard work in Pakistan. We confirm our support to future endeavours and look forward to further supporting the energy grid in Pakistan”.
