Amount of Rs5653mn allocated for Pakistan Baitul Mal: Told in NA
ISLAMABAD (APP 9 Jan 2020): The National Assembly was told on Wednesday that an amount of Rs. 5653 million had been allocated to Pakistan Baitul Mal for the financial year 2019-20 and the money was being spent on different projects for the welfare of citizens.
The Minister In Charge of the Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety Division told the house during the Question Hour that total funds released by the Finance Division to the Pakistan Baitul Mal for the first two quarters of the current financial year amounted to Rs. 2261.2 million. Out of these released funds, an amount of Rs. 2108.267 million had been utilized by the Pakistan Baitul Mal as on 30-11-2019, whereas remaining amount of Rs. 152.933 million was available to meet salary expense of the Pakistan Baitul Mal employees for the month of December 2019.

Further, the funds amounting to Rs 3391.8 million were yet to be released by the Finance Division for the last two quarters of the current year as per annual budgetary allocation for financial year 2019-20.
Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan assured MNA Abdul Akbar Chitrali that Bait ul Mal was already spending money in different ways on the welfare of people in district Chitral.
The amount in Chitral was spent on individual financial assistance projects while school for rehabilitation of child labour and women empowerment center were functional in Chitral.
Ali Muhammad told the house that 800,000 unauthorized persons who had their own cars and properties given on rent were taken out of the list of Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP).
He said these people were omitted from the list after carrying out a survey across the country.
Minister for Communication Murad Saeed said those who were excluded from the BISP list undertook foreign visits and owned properties and shops.
He told that 2500 government employees in grade 17, 18, 19 and 20 were also excluded from the list.
