The Lahore High Court (LHC) has directed Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to decide whether to ban PUBG in Pakistan. Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) has gained a lot of popularity in the country as the game has been easily accessible on mobile devices.
Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) was directed by Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday to decide to ban famous mobile phone online game, Player Unknown Battlegrounds (PUBG) in the country.
According to the details, Justice Atir Mahmood headed a division bench of the LHC and heard a petition from a citizen, Faizan Maqsood against the online game.
The petitioner claimed that the online game has negative impact on children, after listening the petition Justice Atir Mahmood ordered PTA to take action against it within six weeks.
Earlier, the game had also banned in Jordon after Jordan’s Telecommunications Regulatory Authority warned that it has had negative effects on its users, which led to its being officially blocked.
The game is also banned in Aceh, Indonesian province, Indian state of Gujarat, Iraq and Nepal.
Earlier, The PUBG Mobile Pro League (PMPL) Americas and the World League have been indefinitely postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
In a statement, PUBG Mobile said that the health and safety of players, teams, community fans and staff are the first priority to PUBG Mobile Esports.
The company also added that they closely monitor the global situation of COVID-19 outbreak.
