Work on Dir-Chitral Motorway to start in March 2021: Shafiullah Khan
PESHAWAR (APP): Practical work on long-awaited mega project of Dir-Chitral Motorway will start in March 2021 which on completion besides providing hassle-free travelling facility to people, will also help boost tourism and trade activities.
This was informed by Special Assistant to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Anti-corruption, Shafiullah Khan while talking to a private channel on Wednesday.
Shafiullah Khan said unfortunately some local politicians kept deceiving the people in the name of Dir-Chitral Motorway adding if these politicians were sincere to their people why they did not approve this important project during their tenure.
The PTI government, he said by fulfilling the pledges it made with people approved this mega project last year. With efforts of Federal Communication Minister, Murad Saeed this project was made part of the gigantic CPEC project.
Shafiullah said Chief Minister Mahmood Khan was taking keen interest in development of Dir district who approved some big welfare projects for the area adding approval for 70km road from Chakdara to Dir and full swing ongoing work on Rs360.8 million Talash Bypass was a testimony to this fact.
Likewise, he said work on Bagh Road was underway by PKHA and Rs650m beautification project of Timergara was also in offing, PC-1 of which was in final stage.
The government of PTI was laying special emphasis on education and health sectors and has included the project of Abdul Wali Khan University Timergara in Annual Development Program (ADP). The credit for Timergara Medical College also went to PTI government he said and informed that approval has been accorded to give status of Teaching Hospital to Timergara Headquarters Hospital. This multi-stories hospital, he said will be equipped with all modern facilities.
To provide clean drinking water facility to the people, he said Timergara Gravity Water Supply Scheme, a mega project worth Rs700m was being initiated.
He said to ensure smooth flow of traffic in Timergara Bazaar he said work on underpass or bridge at Shaheed Chowk will soon be started. He said till now Rs350m have been spent on small uplift projects in the area.
