In an effort to ensure transparent relief payments to flood victims, the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has established a smartphone application for evaluating damaged homes in the province’s flood-affected areas.
Tuesday saw a meeting on the launch of the app, presided over by the chief secretary, Dr. Shehzad Khan Bangash. The Additional Chief Secretary, Administrative Secretaries, Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners (DCs), Pakistan Army and National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) representatives, as well as other relevant officials, attended.
The software was established and developed by the KP Information Technology (IT) Board, and the attendees were told that the appropriate officials are undergoing professional instruction in its use.
The poll will start on September 15 and end with the Bank of Khyber giving the required remuneration. This information was shared with the attendees.
The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) of KP has released early assessment reports that indicate 91,456 homes may have been damaged by the floods. The province government also debuted the “Flood Reporting App” a couple of weeks ago to offer quick support to flood victims by enabling them to ask for help with food, medications, and other resources.
The software offers a thorough mechanism for helping victims and keeping track of user feedback. Additionally, it makes it easier for users to swiftly report accidents and the type of assistance needed.
