According to reports, Pakistan’s famous female Pashto singer Nazia Iqbal has been stopped to leave Afghanistan due to visa complications.

The singer’s concert manager has told The Express Tribune that the Afghan immigration officials took her passport when she landed in Kabul on August 28 as she did not have the privilege of double entry.

He said Nazia was prevented to leave the country by Afghan authorities who have said that the singer had entered the country once on the same visa and could not reenter as she did not have the privilge of double entry.

However, her concert manager said he hopes the problem wold be resolved soon and Nazia could fly back home. “Afghan authorities changed the law just five days ago and we were caught unaware,” he added.

He also added Nazia would stay on for a few more days as she had plans for more music shows.
A source from Kabul airport quoted by The Express Tribune said, “Nazia Iqbal planned to return on Saturday but could not travel as her passport is still with Afghan authorities.”

In the meantime, another source close to Nazia has said that the Pakistani embassy in Kabul would be approached to resolve the issue.

“Afghan officials have advised her to get a letter from the Pakistani embassy, requesting the Kabul administration to allow her to return home,” the source said.
