KARACHI: Around 35 students and teachers belonging to Army Public School (APS), Peshawar, will be reaching Karachi in 10 days time for needed treatment at Aga Khan University, Hospital.
Sindh’s Special Secretary for Public Health, Dr. Khalid Shaikh talking to APP on Friday said 16 students and three teachers injured during the unfortunate incident on December 16 had already arrived here during past two days.
Dr. Shaikh, assigned responsibility by the provincial government to facilitate the guests from Peshawar and the relatives accompanying them, said the children who have already reached Karachi were taken straight away to AKU and admitted to its paediatric department.
Some were also placed in private wards in accordance to their specific needs, he said mentioning that the provincial government, immediately after the incident, had offered needed medical support to the injured students and teachers of the children.
The injured brought to Karachi include those with head and back injuries besides those with multiple fractures and those at risk of amputation due to severe injuries caused to their fingers.
Relatives accompanying the children expressing their gratitude to the Sindh government for their gesture, however, mentioned that parents and relatives of PAS students alongwith their teachers had constituted a fund to help the victims with best possible treatment. APP
